MINDEN, NV—July XX, 2011 – Excalibur Lab Specialists, Inc. announces it has signed an agreement to become the exclusive US distributor of fully automated Alifax analyzers for the determination of ESR, a common diagnostic blood test used to detect and monitor inflammatory activity in the body.

As part of the agreement, Excalibur will distribute and service the Test 1 and Roller 20 systems from Alifax, which are the only fully automated analyzers available that are capable of providing ESR results in 20 seconds. These analyzers are able to deliver such fast ESR results because the patented Test 1 Capillary Photometry Technology takes 1,000 readings on every sample, which overcomes the variables and limitations of standard sedimentation procedures by measuring red blood cell aggregation.

Additionally, these analyzers require a patient sample of only 175 µl, utilize primary tubes, and correlate 98% with the Westergren method.
